Learn to Skate
Classes
The
Skateaway Star Classes are held every
Saturday from 9am-10am &
1pm – 2pm and are
suitable for all people of any age
whether using roller blades or traditional quad
skates. Skaters can start as young as two years
old.
Your Star Class Coordinator and instructor,
Christine Keogh, is a fully qualified level 1
Accredited Roller Skating Coach. Christine and
our team of competent instructors will ensure
you learn good roller skating skills and
techniques to assist you to skate in the general
public sessions held regularly at Bundamba
Skateaway. This will also assist you if you a
planning on playing In-Line Hockey, or choose to
move into Artistic (Figure) Skating or even
speed Skating, which is also held at Skateaway
every week.
We will teach you all this, while at the same
time, having lots of fun and improving your
skating ability.
The Skateaway Star Class
Program has 4 levels, which commence at a
basic skating level and then gradually
progresses through to more involved technical
items as you pass through each of the star
tests.
New skaters to the Learn to Skate Program, will
be assessed and placed in the correct level for
their ability and skating skill. Every seven
weeks we conduct Star Testing and the successful
skaters will proceed to the next level of
instruction and receive a certificate of
achievement.
In some instances a skater may be in a position
to be tested for more than one level at a
testing session. If the skater wishes to do so,
they can arrange this with their instructor and
Christine before the test.
Once a skater has completed the Learn to Skate
program, they may like to move into In-Line
Hockey or Artistic (Figure) Skating.
We are here to help you learn and enjoy your
roller skating/bladeing experience at Skateaway.
If you have any queries or require any
information at any time, please do not hesitate
to ask Christine prior or after the skating
class, the Session Manager, or click here and we
will email you back your enquiry. |
